I use this as a body oil – if your skin has trouble absorbing coconut or sweet almond oil, and shea butter just slides right off, this is the product for you! I mix in a few essential oils for scent, and slather it on right after turning the water off in the shower. Then I just drip dry while I brush my teeth and prep my face, and rub the oil in again, and I stay completely moisturized all day! Really a great price for the amount too, and it’s super versatile.

The contents are as they should be but good grief it is a struggle to open! Okay, I’m older than dirt but even using a jar opener with no luck I had to grab a box cutter to remove the label – being super careful not to puncture the plastic bottle (which seems to be of good quality). I made a few light passes with the blade (going from bottom of label to top), then had a feel for how much pressure to use for the next cuts. Success!

This is my first time trying sunflower oil and I’m not cooking with it, I’m using it on my skin. It’s a very “dry” oil, soaking into the skin quickly and not leaving a greasy feel. My dry/sensitive skin stays soft for at least 24 hours. Either way this is working as well as my favorite body lotion and much cheaper and free of preservatives, fragrances, binders etc which can be irritating to your skin. It’s supposed to be high in oleic acid which is good for you. It has a unique pour spout and I love that the bottle is recyclable and BPA-free. The only thing I don’t like is that the spout is spring loaded so that I have to use two hands and a little pressure to replace the cap and it’s one of those caps that don’t ever come to a full stop–you turn until moderately tight and stop, or if you keep turning it will once again be loose, if that makes sense… Certainly not a big deal, but I think it’s an attractive bottle, appearing like a wine bottle and very simplistic label with the pretty sunflower on it. I often reuse bottles to store extra DIY beauty, cleaning, pest control etc products that I make in bulk and pour into smaller dispenser bottles as needed. The pour spout on this one will be great for refilling smaller bottles drip free 🙂

I started making my own cream and in the process invented a cream that I use in the shower that washes me and moisturizes my skin most beautifully in one step. Even after rinsing I have such great moisturized skin. The cream I invented also amazingly also behaves as both an antiperspirant and deodorant. This is fantastic as it is so healthy and also I use less containers by making my own deodorant, cream and body wash. I checked this on a hot day and even after a weight workout. One of the ingredients in my cream is sunflower oil. I love that I can also cook with this oil. -Julie Sands

We use this oil for cooking. After trying various cooking oil products, I found this one to be very good for health. It would be great if this product was available in larger quantities at a better price. I would rate this product 5/5.

It’s not USDA Organic, so I can’t be totally sure it’s organic, but it might just mean they didn’t go back enough generations on the seeds to qualify as organic. But I wanted to do a review because I’ve seen some bad reviews and as someone who has purchased it 3 times, about to purchase my 4th, I think I have more experience with this oil than many. It’s basically odorless and a mild flavor on foods with a high smoke temperature. I never have issues with it smoking. I’ve had nothing but good experience with it and a gallon lasts me about a year, so if it were stale I think I would experience a problem before I used it up. I keep it in a dark cool corner of the pantry and fill up a small glass bottle at a time to keep in the cupboard over the stove.

Worked perfectly while my bulk supplier would take too long to arrive. .

It is flavorful and has an exceptionally nice aroma, both of which nicely complement any food you’re making–e.g., spaghetti, eggs, rice, meat, fish, …, anything. Please, ignore all the negative reviews; they’re from competing companies and/or from people who have completely lost their sense of taste and smell. This sunflower oil is the best, hands-down, so please, please never stop selling–in ALL sizes!
